The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) has elected Giuseppe Curigliano MD PhD, member of our Scientific Committee (Breast), as its President for 2027-2028. ESMO is the leading professional organisation for medical oncology, with more than 25,000 members from across the world. ESMO was founded in 1975 and is headquartered in Lugano.
Giuseppe Curigliano is the director of the Early Drug Development Division and holds the co-chair for Experimental Therapeutics Program at the European Institute of Oncology, a comprehensive cancer center in Milano, Italy. He is steering committee member of the Department of Oncology and Hemato-Oncology at the University of Milano. Moreover, he is member of the Italian National Health Council, serving as advisor of the Ministry of Health for cancer policy issues.
