ETOP IBCSG Partners Foundation

As of July 1, 2021, the two highly respected clinical and translational cancer research foundations ETOP (European Thoracic Oncology Platform) and IBCSG (International Breast Cancer Study Group) have merged to form the joint entity ETOP IBCSG Partners Foundation. The new foundation brings together two strong and equal partners. By joining forces, the position as an international academic research organization is further strengthened www.etop.ibcsg.org.

ETOP IBCSG Partners Foundation’s dynamic, interactive network consists of other cooperative groups as well as individual centers. ETOP IBCSG Partners Foundation conduct clinical trials with up to 500 participating sites from 6 continents, involving both major university-affiliated research sites and smaller community health sector institutions. Our group motto, “one for all and all for one,” reflects the loyalty that guides our worldwide collaboration between the ETOP IBCSG Partners Foundation and its participating centers. This spirit has grown on the basis of a friendship amongst a group of dedicated researchers with the singular goal of serving women with breast cancer.

Recognizing that global partnership is essential to advancing breast cancer research, a consortium of international cooperative groups formed the Breast International Group (http://www.bigagainstbreastcancer.org) in 1996. As one of 6 founding members, ETOP IBCSG Partners Foundation played a key role in the formation of BIG and continues to actively coordinate and participate in BIG-supported clinical trials. ETOP IBCSG Partners Foudation has also forged partnerships with the US NCI and Canadian Cooperative Groups to enroll North American patients in IBCSG-coordinated trials and contribute patients from ETOP IBCSG Partners Foundation centers to North American-coordinated studies.
